Quilts of Remembrance

Bonnie Cook will talk about quilts she has made to honor Indigenous children lost in residential boarding schools and also to remember missing and murdered women and girls.

“Too Many Tears, Not Enough Tears” is her memorial and atonement for the many who suffered and died in residential schools.

“Missed,” another quilt, honors missing and murdered women and girls, missed by families and the police.

A Canadian from settler culture and an Aboriginal ally, Bonnie is a fiber artist and a retired teacher. She says it has been an honor to create and share works to raise awareness, inform, and inspire positive change.
